Definition: Someone who helps another person to become what that person aspires to be.
The above statement exemplifies what the programme is all about. The only difference would be that both people engaged in the programme benefit.
The boys’ mentoring programme has been successfully running now for 4 years. Each year, a group of Year 8 boys are identified as good candidates to provide mentoring for Year 2 boys who may not have had the most productive start to school life either academically, emotionally or socially. The idea is that the Year 8 boys will support the younger boys in becoming better citizens and more positive about school; and the senior boys build a more positive self-image, see that they have a lot to offer and also develop strong interpersonal skills.
