The Board of Trustees is an elected body of parents who are responsible for the governance of the school. The Board has an important role in ensuring that the needs of the children and their learning are paramount. Board meetings are open to the public and are held monthly. Notification of each meeting is advertised in the school newsletter. The Board Members are elected for three years and elections are held every 18 months. Parents who may be interested in serving on the Board of Trustees are strongly urged to either come along to a Board Meeting or contact an existing Board Member or contact the school.

BOT Presiding Member
Kia Ora,
It is my privilege to be elected as the Chairperson of our Board of Trustees. I am a born and bred Westie – I grew up in Hobsonville (my father was in the air force) until we relocated to our family farm in Kaukapaka in the early 80’s. I attended Hobsonville Primary and Massey High School.
Apart from a strong mixture of Northern Irish, Danish and Scottish ancestry, I am also of Nga Puhi decent. After High School, I obtained my law degree from Auckland University and have been a lawyer at Smith & Partners, a local firm based on Lincoln Road, for 19 years (14 of which as a partner of the firm). My area of practice is property and commercial law. With this experience and being a local business owner, I bring common sense and level headed business knowledge to the Board.
I live in Waimauku and have two children attending Waitakere Primary School with my eldest attending Massey High School. I also have a recent addition to the family and hopefully he will follow in his sibling’s footsteps and attend our great school.
In my ‘spare time’, I am also on the Board of Trustees for Massey High School, and coach my eldest’s son’s football team at Norwest United. Apart from that and being a taxi driver for the children, I enjoy social basketball and jumping on my mountain or road bike attempting to be a weekend warrior.
