Week 2 update
5 May 2024

Kia Ora koutou,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

A couple notices from me:

- Wednesday is sausage sizzle day, the Year 3/4 team are fundraising for camp. Sausages will be for sale for $1

- I’m setting up a craft/creation table in the class. If anyone has any crafty bits/stickers/anything that the children can use and you no longer need it at home we would be very grateful. It’s a bit tricky as our art room is in the building being renovated so we have no access but I’m slowly collecting bits and pieces.

- Poem books to be returned tomorrow please

- This Wednesday we are super lucky some students from Waitākere College coming in to do a small performance for the Year 0-2 team as we begin our production journey.

Thank you to those working hard on sounds, readers and word books at home. It truly does make a big difference! If you need any support with this, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

See you tomorrow,

Tamara

Yr 3-4 Camp - Parent Helpers
3 May 2024

Kia ora parents and caregivers.

Firstly, a huge thank you to the large number of parents who offered to take the time to be a parent helper for our planned camp at Carey Park Christian Camp from September 11-13.

We are very lucky to have such a skilled and enthusiastic group of parents in our Year 3-4 team for 2024!  Unfortunately, we can’t take everyone who has offered. The difficult decision was made on a range of criteria including skill, experience, balance of females and males, and balance of classroom numbers.
The parents who have been selected are listed below.

Full time parent helpers
Day and night Wednesday 11 September to Friday 13 September
Emma Worley
Jonathan Perri

If you are now unable to attend camp as a parent helper, PLEASE let us know as soon as possible as we have a number of parents who are very keen to attend.

As we have mentioned before, we understand that some children may be nervous about going to camp. This is quite normal and something we will be working on at school in the coming weeks as we start planning for our camp experience in greater detail together with our students. Please take the time to look at the Carey Camp website with your child.
https://www.onebigadventure.org.nz/carey-park/

If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact us or pop into class and see us.

We are looking forward to a successful camp!

Ngā mihi,
The Year 3-4 Team
Jo, Jayne, Monique, Ethan, and Kura
