If you are considering enrolling your child at Waitakere Primary School please phone or email our office so that we can organise a time for you to meet with our Associate Principal Alex Jelas. It is important that you have information about our school and its future direction. This is also an opportunity for you to give us information about your child, their likes and interests.

Families of children who are approaching their 4th birthday should make contact with the school so that way we can plan and allocate resources accordingly. It is important to note that we have an enrolment zone, the details of which are located in our Enrolment Scheme. We hold an out of zone ballot in September for children wishing to attend the next year. As our roll is very full we are only accepting out of zone applications from siblings of existing out of zone children already attending our school.

NEW ENTRANT MORNING

Waitakere Primary will hold a New Entrant Information meeting each term for parents who have children starting school the following term.

The dates for 2024 are as follows:

Tuesday 5 March, 9.30 am
Tuesday 14 May, 9.30 am
Tuesday 13 August, 9.30 am
Tuesday 12 November, 9.30 am

This is a great opportunity to meet other new parents, some of the staff, including our Principal Heather Atkinson and learn about Waitakere Primary School. We will start our morning with a guided tour of the school led by our Year 8 student leaders. We will return to the staffroom where you will be given a brief overview of school life and some ways that will help you prepare your child for school will be shared.

Enrolment packs will be handed out to all those who have not received one yet. Please let the office know if you will be attending. While parents are attending the information morning, the children who will be starting school are invited to spend time between 9.30-11:00 am in a New Entrant room. Your child will need to bring a bottle of water and a snack (cut up fruit or veggies in a small container) to have at Brain Food time.
